Sustainability Initiatives
Our responsibility to wood
As a company that deals in "solid wood," we are committed to responsible wood sourcing and environmental protection.
Our important mission is to protect forest resources, minimize environmental impact, and contribute to the realization of a recycling-oriented society.
Sustainable Procurement
We source our wood from trusted sources, legally and sustainably sourced, and wherever possible, use FSC-certified timber, contributing to the sustainable use of forests.
Environmental Considerations
We are working to reduce the burden on the environment by promoting energy conservation in the manufacturing process and reducing waste by reusing offcuts.
Long-lasting products
The wooden goods we offer are designed and manufactured with the aim of being products that can be passed down through generations.
Coexistence with the local community
We prioritize the use of local timber, contribute to the local economy, and engage in educational and social contribution activities through timber.
Initiatives toward SDGs
We are taking concrete steps to support the realization of the SDGs, with a particular focus on the goals of "responsible consumption and production," "climate change action," and "protecting the richness of the land."
We will continue to deepen the sustainable relationship between trees and people and engage in corporate activities that will lead to the future.
Legal wood supplier
As illegal logging of forest resources becomes a global issue, proof of legality is becoming increasingly important in business in Japan as well.
In addition to our many years of experience and trust, Hattori Shoten only deals in wood that has been legally sourced under an official certification system.
What is FIPCL certification?
FIPCL (Legal Timber Supplier Certification) is a certification system that can only be applied to businesses that properly confirm and certify the legality of their timber and wood products procurement.
